Expatriate role based in Saudi Arabia

Business development professionals are needed to ensure an updated strategy is in place, manage or update investment portfolio to support the identification and evaluation of opportunities across the gas value chain and to support subsequent transaction execution processes to acquire assets and/or enter into joint ventures.  While a technical or operational underpinning is required, it is essential that all candidates have a strong commercial understanding of economical modeling of the entire gas value chain from the ground to the customer, with expertise in at least one segment (upstream, liquefaction and marketing) of that chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy definition and ongoing refresh, Lead and guide work processes for the International Gas Strategy Department
  • Identify and evaluate international gas opportunities in line with the approved strategy
  • Originate, lead and/or support transaction execution processes to acquire assets and/or enter into joint ventures
  • Liaise with other Aramco Departments in the execution of the above, i.e.: Exploration, Petroleum Engineering & Development, Engineering Services, Marketing, Finance, and Strategy & Market Analysis
  • Train and mentor early-career staff
  • Represent Saudi Aramco in external conferences, symposiums, and forums

Job Requirements

  • Extensive experience and commercial acumen in the  international gas industry, including strategy management, field development planning, liquefaction operations, originating, leading and/or supporting transaction execution processes to acquire assets and/or enter into joint ventures, especially within North America, Asia, Africa, and Australia
  • In-depth knowledge of the gas value chain, and key performance measures and benchmarking of the international gas businesses
  • In-depth knowledge of Marketing and Trading in International Gas
  • Proven experience using and applying global databases (i.e. WoodMac/ IHS)
  • Experience in technical and commercial screening of upstream, liquefaction and regas opportunities
  • Experience with project economic drivers and modeling: CAPEX, OPEX, production forecasts, FOB, DES, fiscal/tax regimes and economic models
  • Deep understanding of financial and performance indicators and metrics: Unit costs, lifting costs, Internal Rate of Return (IRR), cash flow, price earnings ratio (PE), Required Rate of Return (RRR), and Reserves-to-Production Ratio (R/P)
  • Understanding of functional support roles and ability to work with and guide team members from the greater Aramco organization: Legal, Finance, Treasury, HR, Tax and other functions
  • Understanding of risk assessment (i.e. POCET and ERM analysis) and experience developing mitigating plans
  • Experience in business planning and performance management
  • Experience in managing data room exercises and other due diligence
  • Experience in JV management – both operator and non-operator roles
  • A strong knowledge of financial models skills relevant to mergers, acquisitions, disposals, and divestments
  • Ability to travel frequently
  • Strong negotiating, influencing and analytical skills
  • Proven presentation skills to senior stakeholders
