PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia is ready to accommodate Turkmenistan's interest in getting Petronas to raise its participation in downstream activities.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said Malaysia would look into the matter seriously, taking stock of various downstream activities including petrochemical.
He was speaking at a joint press conference with Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov today.
“I expressed my appreciation to President Berdimuhamedov for giving us the opportunity to showcase our commitment to Turkmenistan through the involvement of Petronas.
“Petronas has invested USD10 billion (RM42.1 billion) in Turkeminstan since its involvement in 1996,” said Najib.
