Job Description

As a Permit to Work Coordinator / Startup Operator who will support and oversee the development of permits and isolations required for the Prelude Offshore Startup phase on the facility and/or execute field utilities activities in accordance with daily routines and maintenance schedule / plans in line with Shell's philosophies.


About this role

The role will support and oversee the development of permits and isolations required for the Offshore Hook-Up and Commissioning (HUC) phase on the facility. This will ensure smooth execution of work once FLNG transfers offshore. Specific responsibilities include:


  • Supporting Prelude operators to start up and ramp up facility following introduction of first gas;
  • Permit issuer in permit facility offshore;
  • Assist with the implementation of the Prelude facility’s Permit to Work (PtW) system and assist with the administration of the Project team’s PTW process;
  • Understand the work scopes associated with the HUC phase and provide operational input into the development of these prior to execution
  • Interfacing with TSC and other subcontractors to ensure their permits are developed to Shell standard and a high level of quality, facilitating a safe operation;
  • Preparing isolations for various HUC scopes;
  • Interface with and provide support to the offshore Permit Facilitators as and when required. This could be across a range of different subjects including PTW documentation, materials etc;
  • Will assist in the training of new shift team members and apprentice to become conversant with PtW system.


About you

  • Must be experienced with a major hazardous or hydrocarbons facility;
  • Current BOSIET and MSIC or ability to renew in short timeframe;
  • Ability to pass a fitness to work medical related to offshore work;
  • Assessed to Job Competence Profile for PTW related roles (e.g. Permit Requestor / Holder / Risk Assessor and Isolating Authority);
  • Field and/or CRO experience in a complex production & processing environment;
  • Experience in an HSE or Operations role in an industry where the PtW system has been applied;
  • Experience and knowledge of oil & gas facilities with preference for experience with major projects/commissioning;
  • Experience in production operations (as minimum one of the following area’s - Upstream; LNG; Storage & Loading; Utilities);


Preferred:

  • Trade qualifications in Mech, Instrument electrical with PMA08 certificate in process plant operations or significant demonstrated industry experience.


What we offer

This is a contract role to Shell Australia via Brunel Energy Pty Ltd. The initial assignment term is for 6 months on a 21:21 roster (FIFO) to the Prelude facility offshore Western Australia. A competitive daily rate is on offer in line with the current market;
